Welcome to Barneys Playschool in Naas, Co. Kildare - a place for children to grow, learn and play. At Barney’s we support and encourage all children to explore, share and play in a age appropriate environment that provides all children the opportunity to learn and develop in a happy and fun way.
Barneys Playschool Story
Barneys Playschool is a home based preschool that was set up over 21 years ago. We recognize the importance of having a well structured and inclusive setting. We have an age appropriate, child friendly indoor and outdoor setting. All our staff are fully qualified, vetted and have been in my service for a good number of years. We cater for small numbers and there is always excellent staff to children ratios. At Barneys Playschool we recognize the importance of working with parents and encourage good communication and relationships between staff, parents and of course all of the children.
We pride ourselves on having an open door policy so parents are encouraged to call at any time.

Learning Through Play
At Barneys Playschool we support and implement the Aistear and Siolta program as our main education and curriculum approach.
We recognize the importance play has on children’s learning and development. Children learn through their senses and our curriculum is based on all the children’s interests. Each child interests are catered for, and their learning is documented weekly for all parents, staff and stakeholders to read and review it. These documents are created in various ways such as photos, observations, learning stories, Conversations and also Aistear and Sioltas documention.
We recognize the importance of having policies and procedures in place and will endeavor to be as transparent and open to all parents, children and staff in our care. We will treat each child with respect, and at all times keeping in mind best practices such as confidentiality, equal opportunity, inclusivity.
